Integration
Bring AI fashion photography to your Shopify store
Alovia connects to Shopify through a custom app you create in your own Shopify admin — a one-time, 16-step guided setup. Once connected, generate AI product photos from flat-lays you already have and push them into your Shopify Files library, one at a time or in bulk, with alt text already set and ready to attach to a listing.

What it does
Custom-app connection, no developer needed
Paste your store's shop domain, Client ID, and Client Secret from a custom app you create in Shopify's Dev Dashboard (Settings → Apps → Develop apps) into Alovia's Shopify Connection tab. An in-app 16-step guide with a screenshot for every step walks you through it.
Product picker pulled from your live catalog
Once connected, Alovia pulls your existing Shopify products on demand into a picker inside the catalog builder — browse by title and image, and generate from a product you already sell.
One-click export, single or bulk
Push a generated image into your Shopify Files library individually from the export step, or export every image in a finished catalog/lookbook layout at once with bulk export — both land in Files with alt text set, ready to attach to a listing.
Theme-independent delivery
Images land in your Shopify Files library, which works the same regardless of which Shopify theme you're running — there's no theme-specific setup on top of the one-time app connection.
Setup
Connect your store
Create a custom app in Shopify's Dev Dashboard with the read_products, write_products, read_files and write_files scopes, then paste the shop domain, Client ID and Client Secret into Alovia's Shopify Connection tab and run Test Connection.
Pick a product
Alovia pulls your Shopify products on demand into a picker — browse them by title and image, and choose the product photo you want to generate from.
Generate and push
Generate AI product photos for any SKU, then push approved images into your Shopify Files library with alt text — ready to attach to the listing from Shopify admin, one at a time or in bulk.
Frequently asked questions
How does Alovia integrate with Shopify?
You create a custom app in your Shopify Dev Dashboard, grant it product and file scopes, and paste the shop domain, Client ID, and Client Secret into Alovia — an in-app guide walks through every step with screenshots. Alovia then pulls your products on demand so you can generate AI photos for any SKU and push approved images into your Shopify Files library.
Which Alovia plan includes Shopify integration?
Shopify integration is available on Alovia Pro ($149.99/month) and Enterprise plans. The Pro plan includes the Shopify product picker, AI photo generation, and one-click push into your Shopify Files library.
How do AI-generated photos get onto my Shopify product page?
One click sends a generated image into your Shopify store's Files library with its alt text already set — no downloading and re-uploading. You then attach it to the product from your Shopify admin, which keeps you in control of which images go live on a listing.
Does Alovia's Shopify integration work with all Shopify themes?
Yes. Alovia pushes images into your Shopify Files library, which is theme-independent — your images display correctly regardless of which Shopify theme you use.
How does the cost of AI product photos compare to a traditional photoshoot?
A traditional on-model apparel photoshoot runs $150-$300 per look, plus a $500-$2,000/day model rate and a $1,500-$4,000/day photographer rate, per industry rate guides (razorcreativelabs.com, larsmillermedia.com, checked 2026-07-20). Generating a look with Alovia costs 10 credits — about $1.00 at the Starter plan rate ($49.99/month for 500 credits) — pushed straight into your Shopify Files library with no separate shoot to schedule.
Can I bulk-export images to Shopify, or only one at a time?
Both. Export a single placed image to your Shopify Files library from the catalog builder's export step, or use bulk export to push every image in a finished lookbook or line-sheet layout at once.
Does this integration sync my Shopify catalog, inventory, or orders automatically?
No — today's integration is image export only. Automatic two-way catalog sync (pushing SKUs, prices, inventory, or orders directly into your Shopify store) is not available yet.
What Shopify admin permissions does the custom app need?
Four scopes: read_products, write_products, read_files and write_files. You grant these once when creating the custom app in Shopify's Dev Dashboard, before pasting its Client ID and Secret into Alovia.
Do I have to repeat the Shopify setup for every product?
No — connecting is a one-time, 16-step walkthrough in Shopify's own admin (create the custom app, grant the four scopes, copy the Client ID and Secret), with a screenshot for every step in Alovia's in-app guide. Once Test Connection succeeds you never repeat it; you just pick products and generate. If you have just installed the app or changed its scopes, Shopify can take a few minutes to roll the new permissions out, so a failed first Test Connection is worth retrying.
